This article describes how to adjust power saving options in Windows 10.
- Click on your start menu and select the settings options
- Click on the system icon to open the settings program
- Once selected, scroll down until you see the power and sleep menu, and single left click on the mouse
- This will then give you the option of changing the amount of time before the screen powers off, and the amount of time of inactivity before your computer goes to sleep. The settings below are the default settings.
- Under the related settings title is a hyperlink to additional settings. Using the mouse, single left click on the hyperlink
- A popup screen similar to the below will appear with hyperlinks down the left hand side
- For laptop users, you can set what happens when you close the lid, and for desktop users, you can change what happens when you press the power button. We would recommend these settings are set to sleep, rather than hibernate.
